A light aircraft fitted with a Cambrai cover set, parked on a grass airfield

Most aircraft owners don't think about this - until something goes wrong. I've been one of them...

An aircraft that isn't clean attracts the wrong type of attention. A cover that doesn't fit properly doesn't just look untidy. It flaps in wind, and every time it flaps it works on your paintwork and your Perspex. Moisture gets in through gaps at poorly constructed seams, and condensation builds under non-breathable fabric - slowly, quietly, in places you can't easily inspect. Sun and moisture get to instruments and avionics through gaps no internal blind can cover.

None of this is dramatic. That's rather the point. It happens over months, not overnight. By the time it shows up at annual, it has already cost you engineers time - and that appears on your invoice.

The guide doesn't sell you anything. It tells you what to look for, what questions to ask, and what a cover that does its job should feel like when you put it on. Whether you buy from us or not, it's worth knowing.

What the Aircraft Care Guide covers:

A note from Michael Whitley, owner of Cambrai Covers

Cambrai have been making aircraft covers since 1978 - started by a pilot who couldn't find one for an aircraft he had rebuilt, and carried on by people who fly themselves, have engineering knowledge and understand what an aircraft means to its owner. So much more than money.

We hold patterns for more than 600 aircraft types. We've seen what happens when a cover fits well and what happens when it doesn't. This guide is the honest version of what we know - the things worth understanding before you buy any cover, from anyone. The questions you should ask.

If you have questions about your specific aircraft, ring us. We're reachable seven days a week, and I often take technical enquiries personally.
